DIRECTOR, BA COMMUNICATIONS, DIP.DANCE TEACHING AND MANAGEMENT
Kim has studied performing arts for over 30 years and in that time has had the opportunity to perform both in Australia and overseas. Kim started classical ballet at 3 years old but found her love for jazz dance a few years later. As a teenager she broadened her studies to include hip-hop and contemporary and in 2008 studied full time at Broadway Dance Centre, in New York York City.
In addition to dance, Kim is passionate about singing and acting. As a triple threat, Kim has had many performance opportunities including the musical HAIR in Miami, Florida in 2004 and multiple community theatre productions in Sydney. Kim has also been fortunate to choreograph a number of Sydney productions including Grease, Wicked and Rock of Ages.
Kim has also studied yoga in India as well as volunteered at an orphanage in Malaysia setting up a dance program. She has a Bachelor of Arts in Communication, an Associate Diploma in Dance, a Diploma of Dance Teaching and Management and is qualified as a Yoga Coach instructor.
Kim has been a part of The Jazz Factory family since 1996 starting out as a student, assistant teacher, teacher, artistic director and in 2014 became the Director. Kim is passionate about sharing her love of dance and performing arts with all the students. She is extremely committed to safe dance practice and conducts her classes to motivate and challenge students whilst ensuring that they are not only athletically fit dancers but expressive artists too.
Kim’s annual NYC dance trips ensure that she stays up to date with the latest techniques, styles, and choreography. It was such an amazing experience for her to initiate the bi-annual JF NYC TOUR in 2013 and continue to take the students to the next level in their dancing and artistry.
