A note from our Director –

Just an update to make you aware of some changes we have made at the studio to ensure the health and safety of our students and staff amid this Coronavirus/COVID -19 situation.

As always, our studios are kept extremely clean and are well equipped with hand sanitisers, Glen 20 spray and tissues all year round. We now also have hand sanitiser at the front table in our foyer.
Teachers will be spraying and sanitising all props, barres and studio equipment after every class and the cleaners have been instructed to do the same when they come to clean the studios every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday.
Teachers have also been told to avoid any unnecessary physical contact with students and between students in class. This means that any contact improvisation or partner exercises will not be performed in classes. Students are reminded to keep their hands to themselves and avoid touching their face.

We understand that for our tiny tots, this is a difficult request and we ask that parents please encourage them to avoid hugging their teacher or any other student. Please also encourage good hygiene practices including regular hand washing (for 20 seconds, our bathrooms have some song lyrics they can sing!) and sneezing or coughing into the elbow.

Our fresh air fans bring fresh air into the studios during all classes. We also have our air conditioning to cool down the air on warmer days to minimise excess perspiration. We encourage students to bring their own hand towels if they find they get sweaty in class.
Students will not be permitted to share drink bottles, use the kitchen glasses or drink directly from the taps. Please ensure that students have their own water bottle for every class.

Our class numbers are strictly capped to avoid too many students in a studio at one time. We ask that if students have travelled overseas recently, you monitor symptoms closely. Any students who travel or transit in China (including Hong Kong and Taiwan), Iran, Italy and the Republic of Korea have been instructed to self isolate for 14 days by the Government. Any students or staff who are feeling unwell or displaying flu like symptoms are asked to stay home. Any students feeling unwell during class will have parents called immediately to collect them. Any students who have been sent home from school due to a coronavirus case are asked to stay away from dance until cleared to attend school.

We will have more leniency over the two absence rule for Senior Stream classes if students are feeling unwell. Students who need to miss class will be able to attend make up lessons. Please contact the office to arrange.

We are taking all possible precautions to keep the studios a safe and healthy place to be and are following any guidelines from both NSW Health and NSW Education. At this stage, all classes, holiday schools and performances will run as usual. Numbers for Autumn School are strictly limited to 30 students (15 per group).

We encourage everyone to stay calm and rational at this time. We want to take all necessary precautions but also avoid creating any panic or anxiety for our students in these unsettling times. We hope that they can continue to find joy and relief in their dance classes.
