Senior Trophy Day:

Sunday 12th November @ The Jazz Factory

Year 7 +

The Jazz Factory’s Trophy Day is a way of giving all Jazz Factory students the benefits of a yearly examination without the associated stress and worry! It’s fun! Each Jazz Factory class prepares and then presents a series of pre-prepared routines in front of our ‘Trophy Class Judge’, a visiting dance professional. Having participated in trophy day, all students receive an award at the concert, and certain students in each class, as selected by the judge, receive a trophy. Special awards are also made to students who’ve shown consistent effort throughout the year.

Following their trophy day class, students will have the opportunity to have an individual and class photograph in their concert costume.

Undoubtedly the most exciting day on The Jazz Factory calendar is Concert Day. Usually held in November, our concerts are held at St Ignatius College, Riverview.

Due to the size of our school, The Jazz Factory splits its classes into two annual concerts each year. Rather than having a Junior and a Senior concert as is done at many dance schools, for the audience’s enjoyment, all the concerts display the talents of students of a range of ages.

Our concert finales are a highlight every year, showcasing the talents of every performer in the concert. Around 350 performers dancing on stage, down the aisles and throughout the audience is quite a sight to behold! Past finale ‘themes’ have included: the Olympics, Grease, Queen, Bat out of Hell, Hair, Showbusiness, Moulin Rouge, Chicago, Tribute to ABBA, Dare to Dream (following the story of a young dancer’s path to stardom), 70’s Disco Fever!, Evolution of Rock ‘n’ Roll! West Side Story. Tribute to Michael Jackson in under 7 minutes, “Hairspray”, Disney Magic, Best of The Best and World Peace.
